If your company or organization has a Defined Benefit, Cash Balance, or Contributory pension plan and you are considering using the PeopleSoft Pension Administration module, you need to know with a degree of certainty that the PSPA module will do all of the things you need and that the actual return on investment will be realized as presented.

The PeopleSoft Pension Administration (PSPA) module is by far the most robust and efficient application on the pension administration market if implemented by a seasoned PSPA expert. There is no substitute for experience and the expertise gained from implementing many DB, Cash Balance, and Contributory plans.

The nature of the PSPA module and the relative lack of PSPA implementation experts in the marketplace should be a cause of concern, but this scarcity of PSPA expertise should not hold you back from implementing one of the more complex, but administratively rewarding PeopleSoft modules.

Just because an implementation consultant has been successful with the PeopleSoft HRMS, Payroll, or Benefits Administration modules does not transpose to having enough knowledge to properly implement the PSPA module. The PSPA module is fundamentally different in the way processes run and how parameters are configured. Even a persons knowledge of 401k plans does not qualify an implementation consultant to dabble in the critical functionality of a defined benefit plan and payment administration.
